Vision Council
The Vision Council meets at 4:00 p.m. the first Monday of the month in the Library.
Our goal at Charity is to empower gifted people to serve the Lord and His church. Charity's governance is empowered by GIFTS - Growing in Freedom to Serve. GIFTS is predicated on the idea that Christians have the capacity to see and acknowledge where God is working, and then go there and be His hands, His heart and His love. The organizational structure of Charity's Vision Council is based on the concept of team ministry. The governing board is a 7-person Vision Council elected for 3-year terms. There are also core ministry teams: Worship, Adult/Youth/Children Education, Stewardship and Properties, which are under the direction of the Vision Council. Self-organizing ministry teams, such as ALPHA or the Care Company, are groups of disciples who have a gifting and a passion for that ministry.
Core ministry teams are fundamental to the called mission and vision of Charity. Disciples who have a passion for a particular ministry are encouraged and empowered to establish and expand non-core ministry teams with guidance and encouragement of a Council member.
